Jesus isn’t just someone who talks about God — Jesus is God speaking to us!

Continue the Conversation at Home:

•  Have you ever totally zoned out while someone was talking and then got caught? What happened?

  • Be honest — when a parent or teacher is giving instructions, what do most people your age actually do: really listen, half-listen, or nod and forget?

• Hearing someone and actually listening to them aren't the same thing.

  • Why do you think that difference matters so much with God?

• Where do you think most people your age go first when they want answers about life — friends, social media, family, a search bar?

• At your school and/or in your friend groups, how do people usually react when someone says something like "God told me…"?

• What are some of the loudest voices in a normal day for people your age — who or what are constantly talking to you or occupying your time and attention?

Read Hebrews 1:1-4

• What does it mean that God speaks through His Son?

  • We discussed the truth that Jesus isn't just a messenger, but the message Himself. What does that mean and why is it important?

• God doesn’t usually speak to us out loud in a booming voice — He more often speaks through a verse that hits us hard, a quiet nudge, or a sense of peace.

  • Why do you think God often speaks in quiet ways instead of loud ones?

  • How much quiet is in your day?

  • What's one distraction you could cut this week to make room to listen?

• We talked about how you can hear Jesus and still not believe Him: like when He says "you're forgiven" but you still feel ashamed.

• Why do you think believing what God says is sometimes harder than hearing it?

• Be real: what makes it hard for you to hear from God — being too busy, too distracted, or not sure it's really Him?

  • What would change if you believed God actually wants to speak to you?

• Think about a decision you've got coming up this week. How would it change if you actually asked God about it and trusted His answer over your own instinct?

• This week, what's ONE specific step of obedience you're going to take — something you already sense God nudging you toward?
