🌎 Jesus Came to Earth -June 2026
Key Passage:
Isaiah 9:6—"A child will be born to us. A son will be given to us. He will rule over us. And he will be called Wonderful Adviser and Mighty God. He will also be called Father Who Lives Forever and Prince Who Brings Peace.” (NIRV)Big Picture Question:
Who is Jesus? Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, who came to earth to save us. -
Jesus was Born (Matthew 1; Luke 1-2)
STORY SUMMARY:
God sent the angel Gabriel to tell Mary she would have a baby named Jesus.
He would be God’s Son and the promised Savior of the world.
When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, angels announced His birth to shepherds.
The shepherds visited the baby and shared the good news with others.
REVIEW QUESTIONS:
What was special about Jesus and his birth?
How is Jesus the best gift of all?
CHRIST CONNECTION:
God kept His promise to send the Messiah, Jesus, to save people from their sins. God will keep His promise to save everyone who trusts in Jesus as Savior and Lord.STORY POINT:

Jesus was Dedicated (Luke 2:22-40)
STORY SUMMARY:
When Jesus was a baby, Mary and Joseph brought Him to the temple.
They followed God’s law by dedicating him to God.
Simeon and Anna were waiting for the promised Savior.
In the temple that day, they saw that God had kept His promise.
They both praised and thanked God and told everyone they met the good news.
REVIEW QUESTIONS:
Why did Simeon and Anna thank and praise God for sending Jesus?
What are ways we can praise and thank God?
CHRIST CONNECTION:
Simeon and Anna worshiped Jesus as the Messiah God had promised. They trusted He would save people from their sins. By trusting in Jesus, we also can be saved from our sins and, like Simeon and Anna, praise God for His salvation.STORY POINT:

Wise Men visited Jesus (Matthew 2)
STORY SUMMARY:
Wise men followed a special star to find and worship Jesus.
They worshiped Him as the Savior and gave Him their best gifts.
God warned the wise men not to return to King Herod.
Joseph protected Mary and Jesus by taking them to Egypt until it was safe to return to Nazareth.
REVIEW QUESTIONS:
Imagine the challenges the wise men faced on their trip. Why were they so joyful to make that journey?
In our story, the wise men brought gifts to Jesus. But, what gifts does Jesus give to everyone who believes in Him?
CHRIST CONNECTION:
The wise men joyfully and unceasingly sought the Messiah. When they found Jesus, they worshiped Him and gave Him valuable gifts. Jesus joyfully and faithfully did His Father’s plan. Through His life, death, and resurrection, all who believe in Him have the gift of eternal life.STORY POINT:

Jesus at the Temple (Luke 2:41-52)
STORY SUMMARY:
When Jesus was 12, He stayed behind in the temple after the Passover Festival.
In the temple, He amazed the teachers of God’s word with His wisdom.
His parents didn’t know where He was and searched three days for Him.
Jesus explained He was in the temple doing His Father’s work.
Jesus returned home and continued to grow in wisdom and favor with God and people.
REVIEW QUESTIONS:
How did Jesus do His Father’s will as a child? As an adult?
How can we do our Father’s will, too?
CHRIST CONNECTION:
Jesus obeyed God, His heavenly Father. He always “had to be in His Father’s house”/”about His Father’s business.” He always glorified His Father’s name by carrying out His Father’s plan to save sinners. It was God the Father’s plan that Jesus would die on a cross for our sins and rise again so that those who believe in Him could have eternal life.STORY POINT:
Jesus came to earth to do His Father’s will: to rescue sinners.
