Missionary Care Teams
“We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth.” - 3 John 8 (NIV)
Missionary care teams…
…are a tangible expression of Faith’s desire to offer meaningful, personal, and ongoing support to our missionaries who are serving in cross-cultural environments all over the world.
The people we send all over the world to share the gospel face many different challenges. Things like culture shock, loneliness, political unrest, and intense spiritual warfare all make a missionary’s transition and everyday life in their new home difficult. For their spiritual health and overall well-being, missionaries need the assurance that they are not alone, not forgotten, and that there are others in the body of Christ who love them, care about them, and are committed to their welfare and to the success of their work.
Missionary Care Teams are one of the ways Faith tries to meet these needs. As a Team Member your primary role is to be a compassionate and caring friend. You are not the missionary’s supervisor. You are a safe person, and a safe community of people, for your missionary to connect with, trust, and share the good, the bad, and the hard of their lives.
