Pastorate

A pastorate life group functions like “the church in microcosm” and typically involves around 30 to 40 people.  It is a "mid-sized" life group--large enough so you have room to explore, yet small enough to get to know others in the church. The pastorate Life Group is a safe place of belonging for (a) members of the body of Christ seeking to experience God, (b) those who, for whatever reason, may be only “loosely connected” with the church, and (c) others who want to “get a taste” of the church, but not on a Sunday morning.

We enjoy a meal, worship, a talk, a time during which we study the Bible and pray together, and discussion.

The Great Adventure

Life should be an adventure, but too often it seems tiring, even boring. The Great Adventure will challenge you to break free from the bondage of boredom and begin the great adventure that God uniquely designed for you. This 20-session study (fall and spring semesters) will look at such issues as:
How to live wisely with the end in mind
How to develop a satisfying, personal mission for your life
How to deal with "unfinished business"
How to focus your life
How to leave a legacy that blesses others
As well as many other topics.

Men's Fraternity is designed to help men come together and strengthen each other through weekly sessions that combine biblical teaching and small group interaction.

Requirements: Must be 18 and over.

Cost: $11 for book. In the spring semester of The Great Adventure, a required component of the study is an online personality assessment that will help you understand your natural strengths and the environments in which you thrive. The inventory costs $35 per person.

The Alpha Course

The Alpha Course
lgac

If you have questions about Christianity, or are a new Christian, we would love to invite you to join the next Alpha Course.

Alpha
—a practical introduction/re-introduction to the Christian faith—is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life. The Alpha Course consists of a series of talks looking at topics such as “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?”, “How does God guide us?”, etc. We meet each week for dinner and each talk is followed by an opportunity for discussion in small groups. There’s also a weekend retreat about two-thirds of the way into the course.

If you have friends whom you would like to introduce to the Christian faith, consider inviting them to Alpha—it’s a safe place to explore. Bring your friends, and check out Alpha at the next preview Alpha Dinner Party: Tuesday, Sept. 15, 6 p.m. Free childcare is provided! The Fall 2009 Alpha Course runs Sept 15—Dec 8.

Find out more by visiting our Alpha page.
