We will work hard
to make sure the nursery is adequately staffed by
having at least two capable volunteers in each
room at all times. In addition to having two
workers we will strive to maintain a student to
teacher ratio of 1:2 for the infants room and 1:4
for the toddlers room.
The weekly nursery committee member will be in
charge of checking your child in. They will
instruct you on the specifics of our security
system. At this point you will receive a silent
vibrating pager and a security tag. Please attach
the pager to an article of clothing or place it
in a pocket. You will not notice a page if it is
placed in a purse or bag. The security tag allow
us to make sure each child goes home with the
right parent. If someone other than a parent
plans to pick a child up please let us know about
that in advance.
We will notify you if your child becomes ill or
inconsolable for more than 10 minutes. The pager
you receive will give one long vibration letting
you know that you are needed. If you notice short
consistent vibrations please notify the check-in
attendant upon your return to the nursery as that
is an indication of low batteries.
Separation anxiety can be one of the hardest
parts of a visit to a new church for both the
child and the parent. Please feel free to hangout
in the nursery for as long as you like, even if
it is just to check out how things run. We would
also love to know what makes your child smile and
laugh in difficult times.
